My name is Rayette Jackson, retired Amphitheater school teacher and currently small business owner of Sonkissed Nurtured Life and Fitness and Sonkissed Kitchen and Gardens. My husband Richard Jackson is also a business owner of multiple businesses for over 30 years and is my founding partner. We have resided in Oro Valley, Arizona for over 25 years and have raised our children in this growing community.
I grew up on a cotton farm in Avra Valley, Arizona, and my grandmother always grew the most delicious fruits and vegetables like gigantic zucchini and sweet watermelon. However, in today’s world most of the food we eat has been sprayed with chemicals, picked too early, packaged with man-made preservatives, and shipped to many places before arriving on our plates. This problem has produced many sick people. My husband’s journey began with cancer, diabetes and heart issues in his family. This led us to seek healthy living through juicing and nutritious food. Together we are continuously learning ways to improve our health.
I am currently a certified Health Coach which leads us to our plans to expand our influence of healthy living in our community. For over 8 years, we have been growing fruits and vegetables in Tower Gardens and Aquaponics systems along with juicing much longer. We have organized a healthy living food event once a month for the past 4 years to demonstrate nutritious and delicious food. We are currently producing juices and smoothies in a commercial kitchen for sale online and at Farmer’s Markets. We are now opening a juice bar and expanding our menu. Ultimately we will add a unique full restaurant and garden experience to inspire the community of Oro Valley.
